Phase 1 Site Improvements at Soille Hebrew Day School – San Diego, California

Soille Hebrew Day School These site improvements include a new 4000 sq.ft., drought resistant play lawn for grade school children (with upgraded irrigation), a new full sized basketball court with 3 colors and striping, and a new poured-in-place sandbox. The next phase of work will consider a master plan for the entire site. Work was designed and built within 6 weeks.

In the planning phase; will be a LEED certified project. Landscape improvements surround and appoint a proposed Jewish Student Center at the University of California San Diego. Improvements include a public park space with a bike and pedestrian trail, using Torrey Pine trees and an all native plant palette.

Gardens at Tifereth Israel Synagogue - San Diego, CaliforniaThis garden is intended as a gathering place nestled into existing boulders and Eucalyptus trees at a major San Diego Synagogue. The concept borrows from the Biblical story of the Burning Bush (Exodus 3:2), which has become something of a thematic element for Tifereth Israel. Other projects at Tifereth Israel include the new entry garden, a biblical garden, a soccer lawn, courtyard, playground and Slope improvements, and the Stav Paamoni Memorial Garden.

Mission Pointe Church – Chino, California

Mission Pointe ChurchWith Platt/Whitelaw Architects

Developed the landscape Master Plan for this 7.6 acre church and community center complex, designed in the style of the Pacific Oaks pre-school concept. While LEED certification wasn’t a requirement, the project is being designed with sustainable principles and xeriphytic or nearly xeriphytic planting. Outdoor amenities include 2 amphitheaters (one large and one small), a labyrinth, a Memorial wall, 2 play yards with equipment and a linear water element (runnel).

Congregation Beth Israel Yom Hashoah Memorial Garden – San Diego, California

Yom HashoahWork for this sensitive project included landscape planting and some hardscape around the sculpture Kriya by artist Laurie Gross. Much coordination between artist, synagogue and installers was required.
